Thankful for – My Creative Scrapbook

Hello again, Crafty Internet,

In keeping with this week’s theme of things I am thankful for, today I am talking about My Creative Scrapbook. I just recently became a subscriber to their Limited Edition Scrapbook Kit and have not been shy in expressing how much I love this company. I have only received 2 kits so far, but they have been so lovely to play with. The quality of the materials included is just amazing. The Design Team inspiration is not just one or two makes, but several makes from each designer and not all of it is scrapbooking. They offer mixed media, cards, and even home decor. My Creative Scrapbook isn’t fooling around. They want you to be able to make a little bit of everything with their kits.

November’s kit is particularly fine:

My Creative Scrapbook kits come with so much. November’s kit featured Blue Fern Studios paper and chipboard embellishments. Two..yes TWO, stencils and a stamp set. Everything in the kit is coordinated so you don’t have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what matches what. I know I have difficultly with colors sometimes and this makes it so much easier to just start crafting. They also include a sketch to help spark your creativity in the kit.

I decided to use this kit to make a journal page in the chipboard journal I have been working on. I started out with one of the pages included in the kit, cut it down, distressed and colored the edges with some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Then I took a piece of cheese cloth and stretched it out, tearing it up a little and stuck it down with matte medium. I smooshed the ink pad onto my craft mat, added some water, and added some sprinkles of color to the background.

Using the chipboard stickers, flowers and leaves I arranged different ones onto the background. I love the Thickers included in the kit this month. They are big, block letters in a gold color that went so well with everything else. Once I was happy with the placement, I glued everything down.

After everything had dried, I added some pearls embellishments and some micro beads. I used acrylic paint to add some white splashes all over the page to help bring it all together. On the back of the chipboard page I added a piece of lined pattered paper for journaling.

Thank you, My Creative Scrapbook, for providing such a great product. I am still debating on whether or not to join the album kit club.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving with good food, good family, and good times.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sarah
